Dr. Laura Rubin will address how parents and care-givers can help manage children’s challenging behaviors during a presentation on June 3, 2014 from 5:00 -7:00 pm at the Rochester Community Center. It can feel frustrating when children test limits and parents often feel that consequences have little impact on their children’s behavior. This presentation will provide parents practical strategies for disciplining children and teaching children to develop self-control. The following topics will be addressed: 1)the importance of temperment and behavior; 2) the link between language development and challenging behaviors; 3) the link between anxiety and challenging behaviors; 4) effective communication with your child and 5) red-flags: when to seek help. Considerable time will be left at the end to have group discussion and answer parent questions.
