April is National Autism Awareness Month!
Dr. Lauren Cook and Dr. Laura Rubin will be presenting on Autism and Anxiety on April 8th at 6pm at Community Partners in Rochester, NH.
A significant number of youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders have co-occurring struggles with anxiety. Anxiety symptoms can negatively impact children’s academic functioning, social relationships, and ability to access support provided at school and at home. This talk will provide you with an understanding of various types of anxiety and how these challenges interact with the symptoms of autism. Examples will be provided to illustrate what anxiety might look like in children across various developmental levels.
Participants will learn to identify potential symptoms of anxiety in their child and considerable time will be left at the end to have group discussion and answer parent questions.
