Good Faith Estimate Notice (No Surprises Act)

At The Portsmouth Neuropsychology Center (PNC), we believe in clear, upfront communication about the cost of care.

Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of expected charges for services. We provide this estimate as part of our intake process, and you may also request one at any time.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is a written estimate of the total expected cost of your care, including:

  • Neuropsychological evaluations
  • Psychotherapy
  • Any other related services reasonably expected as part of your care

This estimate is based on the information available at the time it is created and may change if your needs or services change.

If you schedule a service at least 3 business days in advance, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing. Good Faith Estimates are also available for services scheduled on shorter notice.

What if your bill is higher than your estimate?

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill through a federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
