Psychometrist

Jemma Glenn Wixson joined the Portsmouth Neuropsychology Center team as a Psychometrist in 2025. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavior and was a member of the University Honors Program. During her undergraduate career, Jemma was extensively involved in neuroscience research, investigating the neural mechanisms underlying learning, memory, and psychiatric conditions. She completed an honors thesis examining the effects of NMDA receptor blockade and hippocampal primary cilia loss on neuronal hierarchy using in vivo calcium imaging and immunofluorescent techniques.

Throughout her academic training, Jemma worked in multiple research laboratories studying topics including early life stress and alcoholism, spatial memory, and neural circuitry, and she is a co-author on manuscripts in submission and preparation. Her coursework and research experience led her to develop a strong interest in neuropsychological assessment and clinical neuroscience. In addition to her scientific background, Jemma has taught dance for many years, and she has performed in professional ballet productions on the seacoast. She is also a certified yoga instructor and values the integration of mind–body awareness into overall well-being. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her two dogs, painting, paddle boarding, and spending time with family and friends.
